The Spider Head (Under My Bed)

I woke up from bed with my wife dead, and a giant spider under the bed.

Her head, don't know where it went. Her limbs and her body, just lying there, sprawled across. If I didn't know better I'd say she was relaxed.

I looked under the bed. Two glowing eyes looked at me. I stared at it, and it stared back at me.

"Hi, Mr Spider," I said, trying to control my fear.

To my surprise, it raised its first left leg and waved back.

"Ark, ark," it went.

"Have you seen my wife, Mr. Jones?" I gave my fear a nickname.

"Ark, ark, ark," it nodded its head.

"Where?"

It pointed to the cupboard. There laid my wife's head, skull opened at the cap, all parts intact but the brain. Blood was splattered around, but less than one would expect. A clean job.

"You killed her?"

"Ark."

It didn't nod or shake it's head. It just continued staring at me.

It suddenly ran out from below the bed, revealing it's true form. I immediately moved my head away, fearful.

It had a spherical head, with eight eyes that gleamed green in the dark. It's body was the same as any other spider, but giant.

It climbed onto the cupboard, then onto the ceiling.

It then spun some silk and dropped down above my wife's body.

It then made a white silk dress around her. It was beautiful, a work of nature.

It then detached it's head and placed it onto my wife, where her head used to be. I was shocked, but there was more.

The head transformed to resemble that of my wife.

"Hi, honey," it called out.

"Who are you and what have you done to my wife?"

"I am your wife, at least in part. Her brain is mine. We are now one."

"Uh..."

"And now, it's your turn!" it strangled my neck.

I reached out my hands to find anything that I could fight with, alas, there was nothing. Soon, I felt myself get tired. Blood was being sucked out of my body, bit by bit. I was...

Woke up an hour later.

"Hi, honey," my wife greeted.

"Hello. How are you?"

"Well... We are in the same body, how do you feel?"

"Controlled," I said, as the body host moved to catch more prey.

"Never mind, just get used to it. Soon we will be part of the world's greatest head!"
