"Do you remember what day is it? You don't? Never mind then," I said.
"What... What day is it?"
"Beta day. The day where this story is launched successfully, no more edits. Otherwise known as B-day."
"Alright then," he said. "But why do you look agitated?"
"No, I'm not." I tried to conceal.
"Come on, I've been here with you for all this time. I know you."
"Alright. Fine. I guess I'll just have to tell you then," I said, irritated. "As I told you already, it's B-day, but no one seems to care!"
"Really?"
"Yes. It's a shame. It's finally the day where we get to meet the world, but no one cares. At all."
"Well, I'm not sure how to feel about it, but... Perhaps the others are busy."
"Busy?" I asked.
"Yeah. Busy. Think about it. Mrs. Tonsal is busy taking care of her chickens, Ms. Romani taking care of cows, Dr. Brown treating patients, and our pals training."
"I see what you mean, Mark," I said, drinking my coffee. "But isn't it weird? Isn't it weird that nobody, nobody, seems to care about the launch?"
"Yes, it is. But what can we do?"
"I'm telling you, you didn't even remember it."
"So?"
"Ughhhhh!!!!! That's it!" I screamed, returning to my room.
He doesn't get it. It's so frustrating when something so important to you, doesn't mean anything to anybody else. You're the odd one out.
Soon, I heard a knock on the door. "Come in," I said.
"Oh, it's you."
"I'm always here."
"Thanks."
"About just now... Actually, everyone can forget, including me."
"But..."
"It might be significant to you, but to others, it doesn't matter. Imagine this. If a stranger died, would it matter to you?"
"No, it wouldn't," I shook my head.
"Exactly."
"I see... Thanks. I feel much better now."
"Alright then, by the way, happy B-day."
"Thanks, same to you too."
