Melancholia: Remnants - Chapter 5: Pizzeria Mascot "Job"

It was Jane's birthday and her mother brought her out to her favorite pizzeria, Packku's Pizzeria for dinner. Her mother allowed her to invite her friends to the party, and her whole class was invited, including Amelia.

"Ahh, I'm full," Amelia said, leaning on the couch of the pizzeria. "Wish I could eat more."

As she said that, a familiar sound was heard. "Packku, packku. Waca waca."

"Where did that sound come from?" she wondered, not seeing the mascot of the pizzeria, Chef Packku. Suddenly, she felt a pain in her abdomen. "Ughh, I feel sick. I'm going to the toilet," she told her classmate beside her, and quickly ran to the toilet.

In the toilet, she washed her face with water. She looked in the mirror, feeling more refreshed. Suddenly, the "packku" sound appeared again. Now curious, she heard closely for the origin of the sound.

In a toilet stand, she opened up her shirt and found that her bloated stomach, now yellow, had a mouth with black skin insides. "Packku," it said.

"Ahh!" she screamed in horror.

"No matter how hard I try, I can't waca waca away from the pizza," the yellow sphere said it's infamous catchphrase.

She was freaking out inside, not knowing what to do. She didn't think that experts would know what to do either. Soon, she thought, maybe it's hungry. So she closed her shirt back and went out, ordering more pizza, then returning to the toilet stand with the pizza.

With her shirt off, she saw that her stomach had grown two black ellipses, eyes, and a yellow cylindrical nose. It looked like an emoji, like Chef Packku.

"Packku, packku, packku."

She fed it pizza. It ate and ate and ate, one whole piece gone. As it ate, it grew bigger, the top of it reaching up to her chest. She was scared, but continued feeding it in fear it would eat her. So it ate, and ate and ate. It expanded, her whole body now a yellow round ball, a whole perfect sphere. What was left, her head, neck, and her four limbs Now finding it hard to sit down, she dared not go back out.

Yet, even as such, the ball continued to say, "Packku packku. Waca waca."

She felt that her legs were growing shorter, and so she tried looking at them, but however she tried, she couldn't bend down. In truth, her legs were shortening and turning yellow, her Mary Jane shoes closing up, turning into cherry red boots, tight, and difficult, if not impossible, to take off.

At the same time, her arms were turning yellow. She could see them, though. Orange mittens were forming around her hands, tight and irremovable. No matter how she tried to take them off, she couldn't. They stuck on. Her yellow arms, shortened then moved down her body, to the height of the spherical creature's nose.

Now barely able to see her arms, she was crying in agony. Her body, once hers, now belonged to the yellow sphere, limbs and all. Her only sign of humanity, her head and neck, but that was soon to change too.

Her neck turned white, the white slowly approaching her hair, then her head. Her top white, bottom yellow, now a monstrosity, perhaps. Her white hair swirled around her head, every angle having five strands, attached to the bottom of her neck. Her head and neck then fused together with the framework of her hair, becoming a white cloth cylinder with 100 folds. Her facial features, her eyes, her ears, her mouth and others merged into the cylinder, leaving her head and neck just a cylinder. Even so, she still could hear and see, but she couldn't talk anymore, which she found frustrating.

Suddenly, she found herself moving, or rather, the sphere, moving. Now standing in front of the mirror, Amelia could, despite the lack of eyes, see herself in the mirror, now just a chef's hat on Chef Packku, also unable to be removed from his head.

Now, she was stuck as the hat of Chef Packku, the new owner of her body. Chef Packku went into the dining room and found Jane, and greeted all of the party people, "Packku!", which, to Amelia's surprise, she could now understand as "Have a great dinner!"

She thought to herself, "I better get used to this life." And so she remained in Packku's Pizzeria, her body as Chef Packku.
